Description

It is possible to create one or more courses and publish them on the portal so that the user can decide which courses to enroll, issue certificates or manage credits.

User registration occurs in the Internal Address Book portlet and it is enabled to access to some authenticated sections of the portal, it is also possible to set the portlet registration so that the user is also logged in the External Address Book.

In addition to the system of voluntary registration from the portal, it is also possible to associate (and disassociate) manually users to courses.

The plugin supports SCORM 1.2. courses

Preferences

  • Code CAPTCHA enabled: If selected requires verification text using CAPTCHA while recording;
  • Course to which enroll the student: if selected, It enrolls users to a particular course (it still must be accepted);
  • Registration on the External Address Book enabled: if selected, in the registration form displays a number of additional fields and enables the save even in the External Address Book portlet;
  • External Address Book: if selected, it saves data in the External Address Book in the loaded site;
  • Text data privacy for the course and certificate: if selected, in the registration form displays the text accepted during the registration;
  • Text for data privacy for Marketing and Updates: if selected, in the registration form displays the text, the acceptance or not is recorded in the external Address Book and it is not blocking for registration; it is not possibile to see the text unless you enable the registration on the External Address Book;

Preferences

  • Data Validity: Company level (data portlet are visible on all the communities of the company) or Community level (data portlet are only visible on the community in which you loaded the portlet);
  • Enables eMail registration: it enables the email sending;
  • Enables HTML text: it gives the possibility to insert html text in the email;
  • Subject of the request registration email: it specifies the text in the subject field;
  • Email text of the registration email: it specifies the text in the Text field of the email;

In particular let's define:

  • The title of the course
  • The presentation page of the course (for the possible publication on the portlet Course Catalogue)
  • Certificate template: it allows you to select the template certificate that will be self completed at the end of the course. The template will be loaded in a directory in the plugin and the specified list in the properties file
  • Registration active:
    • if the enrollment is active for students, it sets the date range in which the registration catalog is enabled
    • if the enrollment is not active for the students, they will have to wait until the teacher will enable the course
  • The mode of attendance to the course: if it's free, the access to the course can be carried out without time constraints, otherwise, the access is expected within a range of dates
  • The prerequisites for certain courses compared with the current one(the student to be able to access the course must first have completed all courses specified as prerequisites)
  • It records the teacher/s of the course by defining the possible activities that every teacher can do:
    • load of teaching
    • student enrollment
    • display tracking

The window contains the data specified by the coordinator during the creation of the course and the list of the enrolled students. In particular it can be done the following activities (if the teacher has the permission):

  • Editing data of the course:
    • Duration of study planned (in min)
    • Minimum percentage of the duration of study
    • Exam in classroom
    • Page of the course (text)
  • Snapping SCORM package: it allows you to upload a SCORM package. If it is already present, the additional load resets all data of the previous tracking.
  • Course register (it allows the following exports):
    • It exports the register of the course in csv format
    • It exports the details of time (in seconds) on the individual item in csv format
    • It exports status details on the individual item in csv format
  • Sending notification to students; it is not attached to a particular permission, it allows you to send massive email to:
    • Free choice of addresses of course participants
    • All students enrolled in the course
    • Students who have not yet had access to teaching
    • Students who looked the teaching part but they have not finished the course yet
    • Students who have completed the course

No information are saved on the sending result, nor reports are provided.

  • New student: it allows you to assign a new student to the course

From the Course Register, you can view the activity tracking of individual student.

Active Courses

The section shows, for the individual student, the list of active courses; that is courses in which is enabled and for which it is possible the fruition. For each active course will be viewable the following values:

  • Name course;
  • Free attendance;
  • Start attendance: date;
  • End attendance: date;
  • Last activity: date and time;
  • Duration of study: minutes seconds;
  • Access to the course: it allows you to view the teaching;

The display window of the teaching provides the ability to view the teaching units shown and the time spent on each one and also the total attendance.

Completed courses

The section shows the courses successfully concluded (based on the recommendations given by the teacher during the course). For each course completed, it will be displayed the following values:

  • Name of the course;
  • First activity: date and time;
  • Last Activity: date and time;
  • Duration of study: minutes seconds;
  • Credits;
  • Access to the course: you can continue the course according to the recommendations given by the teacher;
  • Certificate: if it is expected the certificate release, the icon will be active for downloading by the participant.
